We are blessed with wonderful neighbors on Shady Lane. They have presented many new opportunities for our boys & we are thankful.

How do you describe a person that has exceeded all expectations in every aspect of your relationship? My husband, the father of our two boys, amazes me on a daily basis. He is strong yet sensitive. He continually makes us laugh. He provides for all of our needs. His sincerity is the most genuine I have ever seen. The kindness he expels encourages us to be better people. I am forever thankful we crossed paths 18 years ago. I was certain he was 'taken' when we first met. I lucked out! I am grateful he chose me to be the mother of his children, a partner in this world. Together we are raising two amazing boys in a home filled with love, laughter, choices, expectations, and responsibility.
One of the very first memories I have of reading a 'chapter book' was when I was in early elementary school. My Aunt Carol & Uncle Bill had given me the book titled, The Twits, by Roald Dahl. It is hard to believe that our boys were in theater camp for the past two weeks practicing a play from one of Mr. Dahl's more popular books; Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. They worked hard & seemed to really enjoy seeing their hard work pay off with the 'big production.' Enjoy~ William as the Candy ManBenjamin as an oompa LoompaIt has been one long season this year playing for KAU. The boys had one win so far & playoffs start in 2 weeks! Oy! Individually speaking, William had a few great games of pitching. He was also able to get a few hits in this season.
William had a special friend visit from his 2nd grade class tonight (her older brother was playing on the field after William). Their friendship is truly special. William asked to stay a bit after his game so he and his friend could play. After chasing one another & chatting for a bit, they decided to throw the baseball back and forth. William praised her throws & catches. He was kind & encouraging. We are very proud of the amazing young man he continues to become. Consider yourselves warned: This kid really wants to catch a leprechaun.
William had a class project in which he needed to build a leprechaun trap with atleast one moving part. He then needed to write a paragraph explaining how he attracted the leprechauns' to his trap with details on how the trap works! Enjoy Snow Day Surprise! What a surprise it was since the call came for a two-hour delay & there wasn't even a trace of snow on the ground. However, minutes later snow began to fall & Kennett closed! Wahoo! The boys enjoyed the morning by playing on their tablets and drinking some hot cocoa. . .
We have been busy here in KSQ. Steve and I had our first Civil Court experience, another FULL WEEKEND of wrestling, and I continue to work on keeping my resolution {holding strong even with above said Civil Court experience}.
Benjamin placed 3rd in the 2013 Kennett Round Robin Tournament. Why does it seem that some days, weeks, or even months drag on, but when you blink your eye your little one is celebrating his eighth birthday? Steve and I can't figure it out. There were days when he wouldn't nap as a baby & I couldn't wait for Steve to get home and 'rescue me.' Now he cracks us up with his witty sense of humor {and others too}. He is a great student & is coming into his own with sports. We are proud of the young man he is becoming and celebrated with him today at the local fire house. We agreed to host one grade school party for each of the boys where they get to invite their entire class. Happy Birthday bean! xoxo Shout out to Avondale Fire Company! They have a great venue to hold a party & even gave all the kids a ride around the fire house. Thank you for all you do in our community & for making William's 8th Birthday one to remember.
