I like the idea of being mindful, teaching our guys the art of mindfulness, and being thankful. After spending an embarrassing amount of hours haphazardly scrolling on Pinterest, I stumbled across a cute November project that had family members write on leaves and glue them on a tree. Very cute, but not realistic this time of year for our family. The thought of little leaves laying on the floor, half glued and stuck in all sorts of places makes me weak in the knees. Not to mention the start of wrestling season and Steve working endless hours this season. Problem: I needed quick and practical. Solution: I created this little tree that we will use instead. Free for you to use as well! We will keep this posted in the kitchen, so each of us can grab a pencil or pen and write what we are thankful for when the moment hits us. Enjoy!
Fall is truly one of my favorites. Cool breezes, falling leaves, warm sun, coffee, and apple cider donuts. What's not to love? This weekend we filled each day to the brim with fall activities. As a family, we volunteered at the first Kennett Half Marathon, cheering runners on at the mile ten mark. We love being a part of this community! Later that same day, we prepared our home and hosted nearly forty people. Good eats, sweet treats, and a fire pit to boot! I honestly don't know what I love more: seeing how much she loves her big cousin or watching him care for her like a little sister. Kindred spirits these two . . .
Our little niece is four.
She wanted to celebrate at her favorite restaurant, Spicy Town, aka La Tolteca. She held up the card that we gave her after opening up all the gifts from us and sincerely asked, "Is this all you got me?" William took a nasty spill off the ripstick and snapped his right collarbone in half. He is in a sling for the next 4-6 weeks while it heals on it's own. He has been quite the trooper, dealing with the pain of a broken bone and his limited mobility.
