While the boys were away with their grandparents I had some 'quality time' sorting and organizing my 'office.' Here are some organizational pieces about the space that I love:
* IKEA TV storage unit (clearance for $99.00 holds my fabric perfectly) * I have my Cricut machine and Serger set up on a little bar set; part of the top is actually extended onto one of the shelves for additional support & more floor space). I just rotate them depending on which one I need at the time. Sort of a mini desk built into the bookshelf. * Photo boxes/clear plastic storage boxes are labeled with their contents * Stock kitchen cabinets from Home Depot (desk height) along with wall cabinets help hide items that I don't use regularly and serve as my primary sew Thanks for stopping by! xoxo Traci

We have been enjoying a nice summer visit with Rich, Cameron, and little Harbor James. William adores her!
As I reflect on my 35th birthday, I realize my childhood has one common thread; water. My
earliest recollection is playing behind my dad’s previous home in Kennett. There were moss covered embankments carved by a gentle babbling brook. My brother and I would play for hours. At about the same time I was introduced to the Chesapeake Bay. Sailing, something foreign to me before the age of 8, became a common weekend activity. As I grew older, I enjoyed canoeing down the Gunpowder and waterskiing in the bay. I embraced the ocean in Jekyll Island, Georgia where my grandparents lived a block from the beach. Weekend trips split between Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Middle River, Maryland fostered a love of two bodies of water; ocean & bay. Even weekends spent at home weren’t absent of water. My neighborhood friends and I would trek down to Winters Run and swing off a rope into the fresh stream. My childhood completely intertwined with water. Now as an adult with two young boys, my love of the water continues. We have taught our boys to appreciate the water and respect it. They have been sailing, canoeing, swimming, exploring, fishing, crabbing, beach combing since before they could walk. I hope our adventures create everlasting memories for them as they continue to do so for me. |
