Snow Day Surprise! What a surprise it was since the call came for a two-hour delay & there wasn't even a trace of snow on the ground. However, minutes later snow began to fall & Kennett closed! Wahoo! The boys enjoyed the morning by playing on their tablets and drinking some hot cocoa. . .

We have been busy here in KSQ. Steve and I had our first Civil Court experience, another FULL WEEKEND of wrestling, and I continue to work on keeping my resolution {holding strong even with above said Civil Court experience}.
Benjamin placed 3rd in the 2013 Kennett Round Robin Tournament. Happy 1st Birthday little Rowan. I can't believe one year has passed since you entered this world! We love you to pieces & wish you many more.
It is also my Mom's birthday today! She is still celebrating her NFL team's win {Ravens} yesterday in St. Augustine, Florida. Enjoy your day Mom! Love you ~ Why does it seem that some days, weeks, or even months drag on, but when you blink your eye your little one is celebrating his eighth birthday? Steve and I can't figure it out. There were days when he wouldn't nap as a baby & I couldn't wait for Steve to get home and 'rescue me.' Now he cracks us up with his witty sense of humor {and others too}. He is a great student & is coming into his own with sports. We are proud of the young man he is becoming and celebrated with him today at the local fire house. We agreed to host one grade school party for each of the boys where they get to invite their entire class. Happy Birthday bean! xoxo Shout out to Avondale Fire Company! They have a great venue to hold a party & even gave all the kids a ride around the fire house. Thank you for all you do in our community & for making William's 8th Birthday one to remember.
The boys had their first home meet today. Three wrestling clubs participated {Kennett, Octorara, and Downingtown}. We are so proud! They each won all 3 matches. Benjamin pinned all three opponents. William pinned one and won the other two in points. We are super excited for them to have experienced individual successes today! Videos below: they are in the royal blue singlets with black headgear. William's First pinBenjamin's First pinI got a little creative & made some new banners {seasonal} for the shop. 2012 was another successful year of which I am extremely grateful. I snapped a shot of my shop stats just to share because I am so proud (I hid the revenue, but I grew my shop 3X in gross sales when compared to 2011). The statistic that stands out to me is (shop views). If I had a brick & mortar shop, I am not so sure I would have 28,000 people walking through the doors annually. The math person in me figures that averages to just over 2300 people a month and over 100 daily if I ran a 5 day work week. Let me just add, it is a good day if I encounter ONE person open-minded enough to inquire/learn about what I do, but 100? Not there yet, but hopefully someday cloth will be more common than plastic. I am very thankful to etsy for providing a great platform for unique artists like myself to sell our goods worldwide!
I gave up soda {mainly coca cola} for 2012. I am proud to say I made it an entire year without having a drop. The summer olympics were hardest with all the 'coke' advertisements. Almost tempted me, but I was tenacious! So, in celebration I allowed myself one coke. Just one. It is overrated & I plan to keep it out of my diet.
So for this year's Resolution I am giving up curse words. I hope I can make it through the day without speaking one. It seems I have become quite the trucker these days. . . and it is embarassing. I plan on thinking before I speak & using alternative words instead of expletives. Again, I hope I make it through the day. Happy New Year! |
