We took advantage of the hot summer-like weather and had our first weekend on the boat. We were blessed to have the Shindle family with us for the three day holiday.
Steve, the boys, and I reflected on the difference between Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. #freedomisnotfree #grateful

On Friday, May 13, 2016, I had the pleasure of chaperoning the 5th grade field trip to Washington, D.C.
It was a first for both William and I. Points of interest we visited: Lincoln Memorial (William's favorite) Vietnam Memorial WWII Memorial Museum of Natural History (My favorite) Washington Monument White House - from a distance due to a meeting of five nations and increased security National Archives Air and Space Museum We walked over 20,000 steps and enjoyed the time together learning about the history of our nation. For some, being spoiled with flowers and presents is the greatest gift of all on Mother's Day. For others, time off for themselves to do as they please, no questions asked, is an everlasting wish.
For me, time watching my boys learn from their father is the greatest gift of all. #time #lifewithboys |
